Exhibit Opening: Albert Kahn: Innovation and Influence on 20th Century Architecture

Curated and produced by the Albert Kahn Legacy Foundation, the exhibit opens on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the Community Gallery of the Detroit Historical Museum The exhibit runs through July 3, 2022. Museum is open Thursday through Sunday 10am – 5pm This event is free with museum admission

Albert Kahn Commemorative Postage Stamp is Proposed

The Albert Kahn Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit based in Detroit, has submitted a proposal to the U.S. Postal Service to create a stamp in his honor to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Ford Rouge Glass Plant, widely recognized as one of the most superbly designed industrial structures of the 20th century.


The Kahn

Located in Detroit’s New Center/Midtown North neighborhood, The Kahn is an 11-story, 320,000 square foot Art Deco masterpiece. The restoration of The Kahn included the conversion of office space into 206 studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with floor plans ranging from 530 to 1,317 sq. ft.
