The Foundation’s recent Nightframe event brought together a group of Albert Kahn admirers and architectural photographers at Detroit’s New Center area for an immersive golden‑hour photography walk. The tour was created and guided by Foundation board member and architectural photographer, Bruce Millman.
As the late‑afternoon light shifted toward magic hour, participants photographed several Kahn-designed landmarks from curated vantage points, including Cadillac Place (formerly General Motors Building), A. Alfred Taubman Design Center (formerly Argonaut Building), 6001 Cass Avenue (formerly Cadillac Sales and Service Building) and The Kahn (formerly New Center Building and Albert Kahn Building). Tour participants were also provided with historical background and recommendations on how to best capture specific architectural details.
Below is a gallery featuring photos shot by Nightframe participants Zipora Golenberg, Nancy Hopwood, Cathy Jackson and Dan Nelson. They highlight the beauty and character of Kahn’s enduring New Center legacy, as well as showcasing considerable photographic talents. The Foundation thanks the photographers for permission to display their images.
