A group of several dozen fans of downtown Detroit’s wondrous architecture recently had the opportunity to see many of their favorite buildings, including interiors, as participants in one of the Foundation’s popular walking tours.
Led by noted Detroit historian and guide David R. Webb, the group got a close look at the Guardian Building, the Book Tower, the Hotel David Whitney, the Penobscot Building and other legacy structures. Most of the tour’s featured buildings have stood in the “Paris of the West” for a century or more.
