The Foundation recently hosted a group of architecture and Detroit history enthusiasts for a 90-minute walking tour of the city’s cultural center area, which is located about two miles north of downtown Detroit.
Led by Jacob Jones, a noted Detroit historian and Foundation board member, tour participants were able to experience a wide range of structures and public artwork designed in a variety of styles.
The photo gallery below features a few of the tour’s highlights, including Albert Kahn’s Maccabee’s Building, Minoru Yamasaki’s McGregor Conference Center, Maurice Finkel’s Max Jacob House and Oscar Stonorov’s Dancing Maidens metal sculpture.
