Join the Albert Kahn Legacy Foundation for a special behind-the-scenes look at the remarkable transformation of the Jackson County Tower Ballroom, located on the second floor of the historic Union and Peoples National Bank building in downtown Jackson.
Designed by renowned architect Albert Kahn and completed in 1929, the building has long been a landmark in Jackson’s architectural and civic history. During this exclusive event, guests will explore the beautifully restored ballroom, learn about the building’s original design and purpose and discover how this historic space has been thoughtfully adapted for contemporary use while preserving its architectural character.
An organized talk and program will take place from approximately 1:30 – 2:00 PM, featuring perspectives on the building’s history and future from Kahn family members, Jackson County Parks staff, and local historians. Additional time will be available for exploration, interpretation, and informal discussion.
A portion of each ticket purchased will be donated to support the preservation and care of the Jackson County Tower Ballroom.
This event offers great photo opportunities and is ideal for architectural enthusiasts, historians, preservation advocates and admirers of Albert Kahn’s work.
And if you’re able, while in Jackson take time to explore downtown on foot. Its historic streets and vintage early 20th-century buildings (including the century-old Miller Shoe Parlor) reflect the era that shaped much of Albert Kahn’s work across Michigan.
