She broke from the collecting habits of her father, Albert Kahn to forge her own innovative path. This talk by her granddaughter will delve into the story of how LWM did this with her husband Harry Winston and the friendships with artists and museum greats that were formed along the way. Along with her formidable collecting, LWM maintained copious files of documentation on each work in the collection. Her archives are now housed at the Beinecke Library at Yale University and provide a rich trove of information on how modern art was introduced to the US from Europe after the WW2.\nAbout the Speaker\nLydia Winston Robinson is LWM’s oldest granddaughter and namesake. She grew up alongside her grandmother in Birmingham, Michigan and was inspired to study art history at Harvard as an undergraduate. She now resides in Princeton, New Jersey and has spent years assembling her own collection of contemporary drawings.\n[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://secure.qgiv.com/for/AKLFEvents/event/lwm/” button_text=”Register Now” button_alignment=”center” _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” custom_button=”on” button_text_color=”#FFFFFF” button_bg_color=”#2d2e59″ background_layout=”dark” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_button][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.7″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\nJoin us for a fascinating look at art, collecting, and the remarkable legacy of Lydia Winston Malbin.\n[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]\n
